Job summary

The Pillars of Hermantown, Ebenezer's new managed senior living community in northern Minnesota near Duluth, is hiring a Resident Assistant / Caregiver. The role provides personal care and health-related services to residents, with on-the-job training to pass medications.

Evening shift offers a $1/hour differential and full benefits are available. 56 hours per two week pay period (Full Time) with a block schedule and a strong team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to use technology such as computers, handheld devices, cell phones, and fax machines.
• If under 18 must be on the MN NA registry.

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with personal cares including bathing/showering, foot and fingernail care, shaving, dressing, use of hearing aids or glasses, hair care, feeding, toileting, escorts, 1-2 person transfers and use of mechanical lift.
• Assists with health-related services under RN direction (blood glucose monitoring, insulin injections, temp/BP/pulse/respiration checks).
• Performs home services: laundry, cleaning schedule, delivers meal trays, assists with meal service, facilitates resident social and recreational activities, observes and reports changes, acts as mandated reporter, responds to emergencies.

The Pillars of Hermantown is Ebenezer's newest managed senior living community in northern Minnesota, near Duluth and will offer Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care options with 105 total apartments near major crossroads and amongst beautiful scenery. Pillars of Hermantown is looking for a Resident Assistant / Caregiver. This position is responsible for providing personal care and designated health-related services to enhance and/or maintain the residents' physical and emotional wellbeing. Role will also be given full on the job training to pass medications.

Schedule

• 56 hours per two week pay period ; Full Time


• Evening shift; shift differential of +$1/hour


• 2:00pm-10:30pm Shift


• Block Schedule:




• Week 1: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday


• Week 2: Tuesday and Thursday

Responsibilities

Assists residents with personal cares including but not limited to:

• Bathing/showering


• Foot and fingernail care


• Shaving


• Dressing


• Assistance with use of hearing aids and/or glasses


• Hair care


• Feeding


• Toileting


• Escorts


• 1-2 person transfers and use of mechanical lift

Provides Health-related Services As Directed

• Assists with treatments per individualized care plan under the direction of the Registered Nurse. (includes blood glucose monitoring)


• Administers medication or assists with this under the direction of the Registered Nurse (includes insulin injections). Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration under the direction of the Registered Nurse


• Performs specified home services:


• Performs laundry service per schedule.


• Follows cleaning schedule for the shift worked.


• Delivers meal trays.


• Assists with meal service in dining room.


• Assists with preparing for and/or facilitating resident social and recreational activities as assigned and as requested.


• Observes tenants/residents and reports status to appropriate staff.


• Notifies appropriate staff of changes in physical and/or emotional conditions such as change in attitude or mood, loss of appetite, change in weight.


• Serves as a mandated reporter and reports any concerns regarding potential mistreatment


• Offers pertinent observations and input.


• Responds appropriately to resident and building emergencies.
