Job summary

Responsibilities

• Serves meals and keeps the dining area clean and inviting by following the serving schedule and procedures.
• Accommodates resident meal choices and dietary needs, ensuring safety and sanitation.
• Leads shift huddles, delegates daily tasks to Culinary Assistants, and maintains dining room cleanliness and setup for meals and events.
• Promotes positive resident relations, addresses requests, and routes concerns appropriately.
• Trains new staff and assists with onboarding and orientation of Culinary Assistants.

The Lead Culinary Assistant is responsible for dining room meal service to residents.

Schedule includes;

• 80 hours every two weeks ; Full Time
• Weekends as needed

Responsibilities

• Serves meals and ensures that the dining area is clean and inviting:
  • Follows meal serving schedule and procedures.
  • Offers resident meal choices and meets resident’s specific dietary needs
  • Uses proper safety and sanitation techniques.
  • Helps lead shift huddles for each meal.
  • Outlines and delegates daily cleaning and production tasks for the Culinary Assistants as needed.
  • Creates dining room cleaning schedules and procedures and ensures their completion.
  • Ensures all dishes (including flatware, drinkware, etc.) are washed, sanitized, and put away before end of shift.
• Promotes and encourages positive resident relations and satisfaction:
  • Welcomes residents and initiates conversation.
  • Accommodates tenant/resident requests such as requests for food substitution, change in seating, etc.
  • Listens to complaints and responds appropriately. Refers issues to Culinary Director as appropriate.
• Provides support and direction to Culinary Assistants:
  • Oversees proper procedures for dining room set-up for daily meals and special events.
  • Checks the daily task sheets for completion. Refers any incomplete tasks to the Chef/Culinary Director.
  • Schedules Culinary Assistants
  • Identify Culinary Assistant performance issues and communicates them to Culinary Director
  • Trains new staff on proper procedures.
  • Assists in completing the onboarding and orientation checklists for newly hired Culinary Assistants.
  • Listens to complaints and respond appropriately. Refers issues to Culinary Director and Executive Director as appropriate.
