Job summary

Ebenezer's Arbors at Ridges in Burnsville, MN seeks a Resident Assistant to support residents with personal care and health-related services, enhancing their wellbeing.

You will assist with bathing, dressing, meal service, and mobility under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, with a casual/flexible schedule. This on-site role offers opportunities to work closely with a caring team in a senior living community.

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year of previous experience.
• Ability to use technology (computers, handheld devices, cell phones, and fax machines).
• If under 18 must be MN NA registry and site restrictions on medication and lift.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal cares (bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming).
• Support with meals, feeding, and meal service in dining room.
• Assist with transfers using mechanical lift and escorts as needed.
• Record vital signs under RN direction (temperature, BP, pulse, respiration).
• Administer or assist with medications under RN supervision.
• Observe residents and report changes in physical or emotional condition.

Job Overview

Ebenezer is looking for a Resident Assistant to join our senior living team at Arbors at Ridges in Burnsville, MN! This position is responsible for providing personal care and designated health-related services to enhance and/or maintain the residents' physical and emotional wellbeing.

Arbors at Ridges

Arbors at Ridges Assisted Living is located on the Ebenezer Ridges Burnsville Campus near Fairview Ridges Hospital. Arbors at Ridges offers 62 breathtaking apartments. We have a well-established community with warm residents, and a dedicated and seasoned staff! We are committed to well-rounded healthcare and successfully communicate with residents to promote a high quality of life.

This caregiver schedule includes;

• Casual hours
• Flexible schedule

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with personal cares including but not limited to:
• Bathing/showering
• Foot and fingernail care
• Shaving
• Dressing
• Assistance with use of hearing aids and/or glasses
• Hair care
• Feeding
• Toileting
• Escorts
• 1-2 person transfers and use of mechanical lift
• Provides health-related services as directed: Assists with treatments per individualized care plan under the direction of the Registered Nurse. (includes blood glucose monitoring)
• Administers medication or assists with this under the direction of the Registered Nurse (includes insulin injections). Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration under the direction of the Registered Nurse
• Performs specified home services:
• Performs laundry service per schedule.
• Follows cleaning schedule for the shift worked.
• Delivers meal trays.
• Assists with meal service in dining room.
• Assists with preparing for and/or facilitating resident social and recreational activities as assigned and as requested.
• Observes tenants/residents and reports status to appropriate staff.
• Notifies appropriate staff of changes in physical and/or emotional conditions such as change in attitude or mood, loss of appetite, change in weight.
• Serves as a mandated reporter and reports any concerns regarding potential mistreatment
• Offers pertinent observations and input.
• Responds appropriately to resident and building emergencies.

• Ability to use technology in the form of computers, handheld devices, cell phones, and fax machines
• If under 18 must be on the MN NA registry and site must be able to manage restrictions that they are not able to pass medications or operate a mechanical lift independently.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-3 years of previous experience
