Job summary

Great Lakes Management (GLM) is seeking a compassionate Resident Assistant to support daily living for memory care residents at The Glenn Buffalo Memory Care. You will assist with ADLs, engage residents in activities, and help maintain a safe, supportive environment.

Ideal candidates have six months in long-term care or assisted living, and preferably CNA or similar certification. You will work closely with a RN and care team, with opportunities for growth and excellent benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in long-term care or assisted living preferred.
• Ability to communicate with residents, families, and care team.
• Demonstrated compassion and patience in caregiving roles.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with ADLs as per care plan.
• Support residents to reach/maintain independence.
• Provide physical and emotional support to residents.
• Assist with treatments as delegated by RN per care plan.
• Monitor and report changes in residents’ condition to the case manager.
• Engage residents in activities and provide companionship.
• Complete daily documentation and scheduling records.

• Hours – Part-Time - 6AM - 2PM,2PM - 10PM, 10PM - 6AM including every other WEEKEND/HOLIDAY

Resident Assistant Job Objective(s):

The Resident Assistant is responsible for providing hands-on care, both physical and emotional, as outlined in each resident’s service agreement. Responsible for effectively communicating with residents, families, and notifying the case manager of any changes in condition or concerns. The Resident Assistant assists in the dining room and participating in activities and outings.

Resident Assistant Job Responsibilities:

• Assist residents with ADL’s (Activities of Daily Living) as indicated on the individualized service agreement
• Help each resident to reach and maintain the highest level of performance and independence.
• Provide residents with both physical and emotional support.
• Assist with treatments as delegated by the Registered Nurse per the resident service agreement
• The Resident Assistant observes clients and reports changes in physical and emotional condition such as change in attitude, loss of appetite, weight, etc. to the case manager.
• Interactwith residents to provide reassurance, engagement, and redirection as appropriate.
• Complete all required documentation daily, service schedule, flow sheet, communication book, etc.

Qualifications:

• Six months of experience in long term care or assisted living residence (Preferred)
• Registered as a Nursing Assistant, Home Health Aid or Certified Nursing Assistant (Preferred)
• Ability to make responsible choices and decisions and act in the resident’s best interests.
