Job summary

Southern HealthCare Management is seeking an Admissions Support Specialist to assist with pre-admission, admission and discharge processes. You will coordinate referrals, conduct facility tours for prospective residents, and help ensure contracts are completed promptly while safeguarding patient information.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years experience in health care education/ marketing/ insurance preferred.
• Familiar with medical terminology.
• Proficient in personal computer use.

Responsibilities

• Supports pre-admission, admission and discharge processes; back-up to Director of Admissions.
• Coordinates and reviews electronic referrals; communicates with Director to finalize assessments.
• Manages bed-offer process; obtains pre-authorizations from HMOs.
• Conducts tours of facility for prospective residents and families.
• Assists admissions with contracts, room assignments and timely notification of departments.
• Ensures confidentiality of patient information and adherence to policies.
