Job summary

Apploi is seeking an Activities Assistant to support the activities team in providing recreational services tailored to residents' interests in a long-term care setting. The role requires energy and a fun approach to engage residents.

Responsibilities include developing programs, coordinating events, documenting activities, and assisting with volunteer management. A high school diploma is required, and prior long-term care or social/recreational program experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in long-term care is preferred.
• Experience conducting social/recreational programs in the past five years is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the development and delivery of activity/recreational programs to promote residents' engagement and functioning.
• Encourages resident participation in group and individual activities including arts/crafts, outings, religious activities, educational activities, community service and other recreational activities.
• Assists in completing activity documentation as trained and per regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Submits supplies list to Activity/Recreation Director and submits receipts for activity expenditures.
• Maintains precautions/limitations list on each resident.
• Assists Activity/Recreation Director in organizing and supervising the volunteer program, including recruiting and training volunteers.
• Assists with Resident Council Meetings when necessary.
• Assists in planning community activities involving community, staff, families, and residents.
• Helps complete a monthly calendar of activities and posts it in the center.
• Other duties may be assigned at any time.
