Job summary

Talentify in Hobbs, NM is seeking a friendly Activity Director who will plan, organize, and implement engaging activity programs to meet residents’ social, spiritual, intellectual, and physical needs, in alignment with the resident care plan. You will be passionate about activities and resident engagement.

The role requires a state-approved Activity Director training certificate and licensure (national or state).

Qualifications

• Licensed or registered either nationally or by the State in which practicing.
• Bachelor’s degree in recreation therapy or related area.
• 1 year experience as an Activity Director in long term care.
• 2 years of experience conducting social/recreational programs within the past five years, one of which was fulltime in a resident activities program in a health care setting.

Responsibilities

• Develops and delivers activity/recreational programming to promote the resident’s opportunities for engaging in normal life.
• Completes the MSDS/CAA sections and attends care plan meetings.
• Conducts admissions interviews, documentation, and writes the corresponding care plans.
• Completes a monthly calendar of available activity/recreational programs.
• Identifies activity preferences and current pursuits from interviews and records; documents findings.
• Develops an individualized plan of care based on identified needs, strengths, and preferences.
• Implements strategies to increase resident involvement in appropriate activities.
• Plans community activities involving community, staff, families, and residents.
• Maintains physician approvals and precautions/limitations lists on residents.
• Provides opportunities for group and individual leisure pursuits based on interests and needs.
