Job summary

Talentify in Kansas City, MO seeks a friendly Activity Director to plan, organize and implement a program of activity/leisure pursuits designed to meet residents' social, spiritual, intellectual, emotional, educational and physical needs, in accordance with the care plan.

You will deliver engaging activities, complete the MDS activity sections, attend Care Plan Meetings, and coordinate community events with staff, families and residents to promote quality of life.

Qualifications

• Accreditation as a Certified Activity Director and completion of state approved training.
• Bachelor’s degree in recreation therapy or related area with licensure/registration.
• 1 year of experience as an Activity Director in long term care.
• 2 years of experience conducting social/recreational programs in health care settings.

Responsibilities

• Develops and delivers activity/recreational programming to promote residents' engagement.
• Completes the MDS, attends Resident Care Plan Meetings and participates in care planning.
• Conducts admissions interviews and documents activities in care plans.
• Completes a monthly calendar of activities and posts it in the center.
• Identifies preferences and health issues affecting participation and documents findings.
• Completes standardized assessment data and develops individualized care plans.
• Implements strategies to increase involvement within functional or situational limits.
• Plans community activities involving community, staff, families and residents.
• Obtains physician approval for activities and maintains precautions list.
