Responsibilities

• Coordinate all aspects of recruiting house staff, evaluate applicants and provide input.
• Maintain computerized database and compile summaries of evaluations for faculty.
• Prepare and distribute monthly on-call and rotation schedules for house staff and attendings; maintain vacation schedules and leaves of absence.
• Compile records and statistics for the house staff program and prepare preliminary recommendations based on data.
• Compose reports and correspondence with decisions that establish precedents and may commit a unit to a course of action.
• Arrange and participate in conferences and committees as directed.
• Evaluate program for compliance with national medical guidelines and suggest improvements.
• Prepare budgetary information and reconcile expenditures monthly.
• Provide authoritative information that may establish precedents and policy.
