RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Board-Certified Obstetrician-Gynecologist for a Leadership Role in Northern NJ

RWJBarnabas Health is currently seeking an experienced, board-certified OB/GYN Physician for a full-time Residency Program Director position at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and OB/GYN residency program located in Newark, NJ. This role involves administrative duties, clinical coverage in obstetrics and gynecology, and related specialties, based on training. Candidates should be familiar with quality and safety initiatives and have experience managing residency programs and schedules.

The Residency Program Director will participate in departmental and hospital committees, working to advance the division and department’s mission through scholarly activities such as grant-writing, grand rounds, advocacy, and participation in local, regional, or national committees. The role includes leadership at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and fostering scholarly growth among OB/GYN residents.

Preferred Candidates Will Have:

  • At least 5 years as core faculty with documented educational and administrative experience
  • Recent involvement in scholarly activities within the past five years
  • Administrative experience, ideally as an assistant or full program director of an accredited teaching program
  • ABOG Board Certification with an active NJ license or eligibility
  • Leadership in ACGME accreditation, curriculum development, evaluation, teaching, and mentoring
  • Excellence in clinical care, teaching, and scholarly activities that advance clinical medicine and institutional service

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Program Director will dedicate 50% of time to clinical work and 50% to administrative duties.
  • Manage residency and education program scheduling, collaborating with the Vice Chair of Research and Education to develop CME programs.
  • Organize speaking events for residents, fellows, and medical students.
  • Be familiar with quality and safety procedures and initiatives.
