Riverside University Health System (RUHS) - Medical Center,

located in Moreno Valley, CA, has Nocturnist (Assistant Medical Program Director I/II) opportunities available within the Internal Medicine Department. The shift is from 9:00 pm to 9:00 am.

RUHS Medical Center is recognized nationally for its progressive and innovative care and is considered one of the top employers in the region. The 439-bed hospital is a county facility with expanding multi-specialty groups, situated in Moreno Valley, CA. The area offers quick access to entertainment venues, fine dining, Southern California beaches, and mountains. Major attractions like Disneyland, Legoland, and Hollywood are within a short drive. Moreno Valley is approximately 2 hours north of San Diego and 1.5 hours southeast of Los Angeles.

Candidate Requirements:
  • MD/DO from an accredited medical school
  • Board Eligible/Certified in Internal Medicine
  • Active and unrestricted California medical license or ability to obtain one
  • Experience or familiarity with hospitalist or nocturnist practice preferred
  • Interest in teaching medical students and residents
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus

Shift Responsibilities:
  1. Function as the Lead Clinician, overseeing all healthcare services provided by the medical team or specialty area; plan, organize, supervise, and coordinate medical services at the medical center and outpatient clinics.
  2. Supervise physicians, mid-level practitioners, support staff, interns, and residents; evaluate performance and manage staffing and operations.
  3. Instruct and guide medical staff on patient care, medical treatments, and medications.
  4. Conduct training, participate in rounds, and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
  5. Act as a medical consultant for community health programs and ensure regulatory compliance.
  6. Assist in managing departmental performance, quality improvement, and budget planning.
  7. Participate in research, conferences, and scientific presentations.
  8. Maintain documentation for coding and accreditation standards, and prepare activity reports.
  9. Contribute to department planning, policy development, and program evaluation.
  10. Participate in recruitment and staff development initiatives.
Experience & Licensing:

AMPD I: No post-residency experience required.
AMDP II: Minimum one year post-residency experience in primary care or relevant specialty, including leadership experience.

Licenses and Certificates: Valid California Physician's and Surgeon's Certificate, DEA registration, and certification in a medical specialty by an American Board. A valid California Driver's License may be required.

Knowledge & Skills:

Knowledge of modern medical principles, techniques, and supervision practices. Ability to plan, organize, supervise, instruct, and maintain accurate records.
