Neurology Opportunities Neurology Residency Program Director

The Department of Neurology at Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC), a major academic medical center within the Hackensack Meridian Health system, seeks to employ a full-time neurology faculty member with protected time to serve as Program Director of the newly created Neurology Residency. Candidates should be board certified in Neurology and possess extensive graduate medical education experience, with at least 3-5 years in leadership roles within Neurology residency programs. A faculty appointment at Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine (HMSOM) is required, with rank based on experience. The Neurology Residency is newly established, aiming to recruit for July 2026, with 12 total positions. It is a categorical program with guaranteed Year 1 positions linked with the HUMC Internal Medicine residency program. HUMC Neurology offers a comprehensive stroke service, neurocritical care (NCC), inpatient Neurology consultations, and outpatient clinics with multiple subspecialty centers of excellence.

The position will be recruited by Florian P. Thomas, MD, PhD, Founding Chair and Professor of Neurology at HUMC & HMSOM, and Colum F. Amory, MD, MPH, Stroke Chief and Interim Residency Program Director and Professor of Neurology at HUMC and HMSOM.
