University of California - Los Angeles Health is seeking a Surgical Education Program Coordinator to provide comprehensive administrative and operational support for the surgical residency program.

You will work with the Program Director, Manager of Surgical Education, and Director of Surgical Education to manage day-to-day residency activities, ensuring educational, regulatory, and compliance requirements are met on time.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Required: 1+ years experience coordinating an educational program in an academic medical center or other relevant experience.
  • Required: Proficient with or ability to quickly learn Microsoft Office programs and dean's office database management programs and web-based applications.
  • Required: Clear and concise communication, both oral and written, with ability to present information appropriately to audience.
  • Required: Ability to manage confidential information discreetly and follow FERPA regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate resident recruitment and interview activities.
  • Manage resident onboarding, scheduling, credentialing, licensure, evaluations, examinations, and professional development activities.
  • Coordinate conferences, didactic sessions, skills labs, and other educational programs.
  • Maintain accurate resident and program records across institutional and regulatory systems.
  • Support accreditation activities, program data management, required reporting, and program meetings.
  • Facilitate communications with residents, faculty, affiliated training sites, alumni, and external organizations.

Job description

Description

The Surgical
Education Program Coordinator provides comprehensive administrative and
operational support for the surgical residency program and works closely with
the Program Director, Manager of Surgical Education and Director of Surgical
Education, department leadership, faculty, and residents. This position is
responsible for coordinating the day-to-day activities of the residency program
and ensuring that educational, administrative, regulatory, and compliance
requirements are completed accurately and within established timelines. Key
responsibilities include coordinating resident recruitment and interview
activities; managing resident onboarding, scheduling, credentialing, licensure,
evaluations, examinations, and professional development activities;
coordinating conferences, didactic sessions, skills labs, and other educational
programs; and maintaining accurate resident and program records across
institutional and regulatory systems. The position also supports accreditation activities,
program data management, required reporting, program meetings, affiliation
agreements, and communications with residents, faculty, affiliated training
sites, alumni, and external organizations.

The successful candidate will manage confidential
information with discretion and demonstrate strong organizational,
communication, and problem-solving skills. The position requires the ability to
manage multiple priorities, meet strict deadlines, work independently, and
collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. This role is
critical to maintaining the efficiency, compliance, and continued success of
the surgical residency program while supporting a high-quality educational
experience for residents and faculty.

Hourly salary range: 35.50 - 53.80

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related and/or equivalent combination
    of education and experience.
  • 1+ years experience coordinating an educational program(s)
    in an academic medical center or other relevant experience.
  • Proficient with or ability to quickly learn Microsoft
    Office programs, and dean's office database management programs and web based
    applications.
