Job summary

University of the Virgin Islands seeks a Coordinator of Residence Life and Community Engagement to lead Living Learning Communities and partner with academic units to integrate learning into housing. The role enhances student engagement, supports retention, and fosters holistic residential development through meaningful programs.

You will develop LLCs, manage occupancy, train Resident Assistants, coordinate events, and analyze data to improve student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Sociology, Business Administration, Communication, or related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in residence life, housing, student engagement, or related areas.
• Proven ability to lead student staff, manage programs, and address student needs in a residential setting.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience fostering inclusive communities and supporting diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage LLCs in collaboration with faculty and departments.
• Recruit and retain residents with data-informed strategies.
• Design RA training focusing on leadership, community building, and inclusion.
• Develop LLC programming promoting academic success and engagement.
• Collect and analyze data to measure LLC effectiveness on retention.
• Collaborate with Admissions/Public Relations to promote LLCs and housing.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
