Job summary

Prairie View A&M University’s Office of Housing & Residence Life is hiring a Work-Study Assistant (Residential Student Technicians) to support daily operations and provide customer service to residents and staff. You will assist at the front desk, handle inquiries, and help with events and move-in/out tasks.

This student worker role offers hourly pay and opportunities to gain experience in residential life services while maintaining academic commitments, with flexible hours up to 20 per week.

Qualifications

• Current Prairie View A&M University student.
• Eligible for Federal Work-Study.
• Good academic (minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA) and disciplinary standing.
• Ability to work up to 20 hours per week and evenings/weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to residents, guests, and staff.
• Assist with front desk operations, office coverage, and administrative tasks.
• Answer phones, emails, and general housing inquiries.
• Support residence hall opening, closing, move-in, and move-out processes.
• Assist with educational, social, and departmental events.
• Report maintenance, safety, or operational concerns to professional staff.
• Provide logistical support for event spaces and setup/tear down.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with FERPA and university policies.
