Job summary

Prairie View A&M University is seeking a Student Hourly Assistant for the CIITS lab to support daily operations, conduct regular maintenance, manage inventory, and provide technical assistance to faculty, staff and students.

You will set up and shut down the lab, assist with accessibility projects and with video events, and work occasional weekends or evenings for events. Enrollment in PVAMU with SAP and GPA requirements must be met as described in the posting.

Qualifications

• Presently enrolled at Prairie View A&M University for at least nine graduate or six undergraduate credits during the term.
• Minimum 2.0 GPA and in good academic standing (SAP).
• No prior experience required.
• For summer, must be enrolled for at least three graduate credits or six undergraduate credits, or preregistered for upcoming terms.

Responsibilities

• Maintain computers in the lab and perform regular maintenance.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and place supply orders.
• Keep records of maintenance activities and ensure equipment care by users.
• Set up and shut down the lab according to work hours.
• Provide technical support to faculty, staff and students via phone, email, chat, and in person.
• Assist with setup of IT equipment and accessibility projects.
• Assist multimedia productions staff with video records or live events.
• Be available to work weekends and evenings for events.
