Job summary

Washington State University in Pullman, WA seeks an Assistant Director, Residence Life to lead the Residence Life team and oversee desk operations across up to 12 residence halls. You will supervise Residential Education Directors and through live-in staff, indirectly supervise paraprofessional staff, coordinating staff training and committee activities.

The role includes responding to student emergencies, participating in an on-call rotation, and serving as a liaison with university partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and four years of progressively responsible relevant experience, including at least one year of managerial experience.
• Master’s degree may substitute for up to one year of the required experience.
• Education and experience can be tailored to fit the specific organizational entity/directorial assignment.
• Positions may require applicable licensure and/or certification.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and evaluate Residential Education Directors within the residence hall system and provide indirect supervision of paraprofessional staff through live-in professionals.
• Coordinate desk operations across up to 12 residence halls and oversee staff training initiatives.
• Advise and manage approximately three departmental committees annually and respond to student and staff concerns.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and serve as a liaison with designated university partners.
