Job summary

Washington State University is seeking an Assistant Director of Residence Life to join its Student Affairs team in Pullman, WA. The role leads a residential life program, supervising Residential Education Directors and coordinating desk operations across up to 12 residence halls.

You will develop staff training and serve on-call for emergencies, liaising with university partners. The position is full-time, with salary commensurate with experience; regular evenings and weekend work are expected

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and four years of progressively responsible relevant experience, including at least one year of managerial experience.
  • Master’s degree may substitute for up to one year of required experience.
  • Education and experience can be tailored to fit the organizational entity/directorial assignment.
  • Supervisory experience of graduate hall directors, paraprofessional staff or other personnel.
  • Willingness to work regular hours with some evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Residential Education Directors and indirectly supervise paraprofessional staff.
  • Coordinate desk operations across up to 12 residence halls.
  • Lead staff training initiatives and advise committees.
  • Provide support during student emergencies and participate in on-call rotation.
  • Liaise with designated university partners and manage daily administrative responsibilities.
