Job summary

Starbucks Reserve Kitchen in Chicago is seeking a dedicated Porter to maintain cleanliness and organization across kitchen and facility areas. You will support chefs and kitchen staff, handling dishwashing, waste removal and restocking supplies with strict sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• 1+ years working in a professional kitchen – commercial a plus (preferred)
• Current Health Code Certification (as per State and Local DOH requirements) (preferred)
• Understanding of kitchen sanitation standards and handling of cleaning chemicals

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes wares, equipment and facility
• Organizing the dish room(s) and ensuring proper storage of all supplies
• Collecting, washing and sanitizing dishes while returning pots, pans, cutlery and other small wares back into use as quickly as possible while adhering to sanitation guidelines
• Washing and disinfecting kitchen appliances, work surfaces, floors and walls
• Removing and recycling, waste and compost from the kitchen and keeping their receptacles clean
• Performs other duties as assigned by their leader in support of the kitchen
