Job summary

Hotel Covington is seeking a reservationist to support the reservations manager in handling all guest reservations and in-house inventory. The role includes assisting with group bookings, managing the hotel switchboard, and supporting the front desk team daily.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous hotel front desk or customer service experience preferred; luxury hotel experience a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism and resolve guest concerns effectively.
• Proficient in computer systems, including Windows, typing, and basic office software; experience with PMS preferred.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Handle all in-bound calls to the hotel and assist appropriately.
• Assist callers with inquiries in a friendly and professional manner.
• Monitor busy or unanswered lines and update status or take messages.
• Provide attentive, courteous, and efficient service to all guests pre-arrival and during stay while maximizing room revenue and occupancy.
• Operate the hotel switchboard and ensure performance standards are met.
• Log and deliver packages, mail, and messages as needed to guests and meeting rooms.
• Answer inquiries about hotel services, facilities, and hours of operation.
• Be familiar with rates, packages, and in-house groups; know closed out and restricted dates.
