In this role, you'll answer telephone inquiries in a friendly and courteous manner, employ sales techniques in order to secure and process reservations for guest accommodations in a timely manner consistent with high standards of quality.


Essential Job Functions:



  • Answer the incoming calls of all prospective guests in a friendly and timely manner.

  • Provide accurate information regarding availability, accommodation types, rates, etc. and assign reservations based on guest preferences and availability.

  • Input and retrieve data using a computer reservation system and utilize codes for efficiency.

  • Answer questions regarding hotel facilities and services, local attractions, directions, etc. Communicate applicable deposit and guarantee policies as requested.

  • Thoroughly read provided materials pertaining to group reservations, guest concerns, and property updates.

  • Handle complaints in a tactful manner and negotiate resolutions such as alternative accommodations when hotel is sold out.

  • File registration cards.

  • Initiate reports and retrieve printed forms from computer.

  • Other duties as assigned.





Physical Demands:



  • Ability to lift, carry, push or pull 10 lbs

  • Primarily sedentary role, may involve standing and walking for short periods of time


Wage: $19.00/ per hour


Qualifications:


Education:



  • High school diploma or its equivalent



Experience:



  • Prior hospitality experience preferred

  • Full understanding and comfort working on a computer with MS Suite-Outlook, Word, Excel

  • Previous experience with hotel PMS systems a plus. Examples: OPERA, OnQ
