Job summary

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC is seeking a Research Technician to support the Niethammer Lab. You will prepare and maintain lab equipment, conduct tissue culture and molecular biology work, and assist with CRISPR screening and imaging.

You will contribute to data management, collaborate with postdocs, and handle zebrafish experiments, injections, and tissue collection. A Bachelor’s degree in biology is required, with experience in tissue culture and zebrafish preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in biology or life sciences is required.
Experience with tissue culture and molecular biology techniques is required.
Comfort working with zebrafish larvae or adult specimens, including monitoring and basic assays.

Responsibilities

Laboratory Support: Prepare and maintain lab equipment, instruments, solutions, stains, assays, and other essential supplies.
Techniques & Assays: Perform specialized techniques, such as CRISPR screening, flow cytometry, sterile mammalian tissue culture, and imaging.
Animal Handling: Conduct animal studies, including injections, tissue/fluids collection, and animal handling.
Data Management: Record and analyze research data, prepare reports, and provide insights to the research team.
Collaboration: Assist peers and researchers with ongoing projects, fostering a team-oriented environment.
