Job summary

The University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix invites applications for a Research Technician II in the Translational Neurosciences lab led by Dr. Manish Jain.

The role focuses on GPCR biology to understand neurological disorders, requiring attention to detail and clear written and verbal communication. Responsibilities include tissue culture, DNA/RNA/protein work, cloning, and mouse experiments; data recording; preparation of reports and SOPs; and RLSS compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency is required.
• Three (3) years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Preferred: Structural and Molecular biology experience; rodent surgery.

Responsibilities

• Works under supervision of the PI and performs day-to-day experiments of tissue culture, DNA, RNA, protein isolation/analyses, cloning DNA constructs, and mouse experiments.
• Record results in laboratory notebooks or data folders.
• Communicate results to the PI in a timely manner and plan follow-up experiments.
• Participate in preparation of technical reports, summaries, protocols, and data figures.
• Assist with setup of standard laboratory operations.
• Organize and manage laboratory resources including research reagents and equipment.
• Facilitate maintenance and repair of laboratory equipment.
• Assist with orientation and training of new lab personnel.
• Provide routine and technical administrative support to lab operations.
• Write and update standard lab operating procedures and protocols.
• Oversee RLSS compliance for all lab members.
