Job summary

University of Arizona is seeking a Research Technician II for the Department of Translational Neurosciences (College of Medicine-Phoenix). The role focuses on GPCR biology related to neurological disorders, with duties spanning tissue culture, DNA/RNA/protein work, and mouse experiments.

Candidates should be detail-oriented with strong communication skills. Preferred candidates may have backgrounds in Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Neuroscience, or Structural Biology.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Three years of relevant experience, or an equivalent education/experience mix.
• Experience in Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Neuroscience, or Structural Biology encouraged.
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day experiments including tissue culture, DNA, RNA, protein isolation/analyses, cloning DNA constructs, and mouse experiments.
• Record results in laboratory notebooks or data folders.
• Communicate results to the PI in a timely manner and plan follow-up experiments and troubleshooting.
• Prepare technical reports, summaries, protocols, and data figures.
• Assist with set up of standard laboratory operations.
• Organize and manage laboratory resources including reagents and equipment.
• Facilitate maintenance and repair of laboratory equipment.
• Assist with orientation and training of new lab personnel.
• Provide routine and technical administrative support to lab operations.
• Write and update standard lab operating procedures and protocols.
• Oversee RLSS compliance for all lab members.
