Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle, WA is seeking a Research Technician I/II for the Ghajar Lab to process human specimens, stain, image, and quantify disseminated tumor cells from breast cancer patients within a translational research setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related scientific field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated scientific knowledge in the area of study.
• Demonstrated basic laboratory skills.
• 2 years of experience working in a lab outside of school coursework.

Responsibilities

• Keep meticulous records on processed samples, storage conditions and data generated on a large human clinical study.
• Adhere fastidiously to detailed protocols to process human bone marrow.
• Conduct immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence on human tissue specimens.
• Image these specimens and run algorithms to identify DTCs.
• Spot check these algorithms.
• Organize and present resulting data to the broader team of investigators.
• Perform other duties - including those related to lab management - as required.
