Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle is seeking a Research Technician to handle processing of human samples and computational data in a translational research setting. The role focuses on identifying disseminated tumor cells and evaluating potential immunotherapeutic targets in breast cancer patients.

The ideal candidate will hold a BS in a related field, have strong basic lab skills, and be comfortable with immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence and microscopy techniques, with

Qualifications

• BS in related scientific field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated scientific knowledge in the area of study.
• Demonstrated basic laboratory skills.
• Experience with mammalian cell culture, immunofluorescence and/or immunohistochemistry and microscopy is preferred.
• Authorship on a peer‑reviewed publication is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Keep meticulous records on processed samples, storage conditions and data generated on a large human clinical study.
• Adhere to detailed protocols to process human bone marrow.
• Conduct immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence on human tissue specimens.
• Image these specimens and run algorithms to identify DTCs.
• Spot check these algorithms.
• Organize and present resulting data to the broader team of investigators.
• Perform other duties including lab management as required.
