Research Technician I - Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (Finance)

Position Summary: Provides routine, entry-level technical assistance in research projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with cryo-EM structure resolution of human TRPA1 under various pharmacological conditions
• Receive training in membrane protein purification
• Support electrophysiology research on TRP and mechano-sensitive ion channels
• Conduct routine tests in research or clinical laboratory settings
• Collect and document research and clinical data
• Prepare lab solutions and perform biochemical and clinical tests using lab equipment
• Handle autoclaving and biohazard disposal
• Manage reference materials and sterilize labware
• Order supplies and perform custodial duties
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Skills and Certification: None required.

Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum Experience: No experience necessary; six months preferred.

Physical Requirements: Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force; work may involve hazardous materials.

Security Sensitive: Yes, subject to Texas Education Code § 51.215.

Residency Requirement: Must reside and work in Texas.
