Job summary

Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx seeks a Research Technician C to support a full‑time laboratory focused on urinary extracellular vesicles related to kidney disease. Under supervision you will plan and perform procedures, maintain samples, and contribute to data collection and analysis.

Responsibilities include processing biospecimens, isolating and characterizing EVs, RNA isolation, and coordinating sample submissions with core facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related science or equivalent experience.
• 2 to 4.5 years of related laboratory experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a team.
• Organizational skills to maintain records and manage samples.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine processing of human biospecimens for long-term storage and maintains accurate records of sample collection, processing, and inventory.
• Isolates urinary extracellular vesicles using ultracentrifugation, sequential centrifugation, and size exclusion chromatography; processes and stores samples.
• Conducts routine EV characterization including particle quantification, imaging, and Western blot analysis.
• Performs RNA isolation from EVs using standard lab procedures.
• Performs flow cytometry for EV characterization following established protocols.
• Maintains laboratory inventory, assists with ordering, and ensures proper storage and disposal of materials.
• Collects, records, and organizes scientific data using software and assists with data analysis as directed.
• Coordinates submission and tracking of samples for assays in core facilities or external labs.
• Maintains laboratory organization, equipment, and documentation to support ongoing research.
• Follows established protocols and safety procedures with occasional guidance.
