Job summary

Impellam Group is seeking an entry-level Research Associate to support document preparation and validate land rights by researching internal/external databases and county records to determine property ownership and rights for infrastructure work.

Key responsibilities include performing title/ownership research, reviewing engineering drawings and site plans, preparing real estate documents, and staying current on land law.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience as stated.
  • 1 year related work experience.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Notary Public (can obtain within first year).
  • Bachelor's in related field (nice-to-have).
  • 2 years' experience (nice-to-have).
  • Paralegal Certification (nice-to-have).
  • Communication, organization and attention to detail (nice-to-have).
  • Critical thinking and self-motivation (nice-to-have).
  • Electric distribution/transmission systems knowledge (nice-to-have).

Responsibilities

  • Perform Research: title ownership, review drawings/site plans, prepare real estate documents, stay current on land law/regulations.
  • Communication: coordinate with Business Partners, Real Estate Reps, Research Specialists, Data Management.
  • Data Management: submit land rights for indexing, map easements in GIS.

Job description

Entry-level role in the research job family. Performs basic research to support document preparation and validate the company's land rights - researching internal/external databases and county records to determine property ownership and identify existing rights for infrastructure installation, operation, and maintenance. Supports new construction, rebuilds, major projects, and relocations.

Key responsibilities

  • 80% - Perform Research (title/ownership research, review engineering drawings/site plans/legal descriptions, prepare real estate documents, stay current on land law/regulations)
  • 10% - Communication (coordinate with Business Partners, Real Estate Reps, Research Specialists, Data Management)
  • 10% - Data Management (submit land rights for indexing, map easements in GIS)

Requirements - education & experience

  • Education: Associate's in Paralegal, Real Estate, Business, Political Science, Surveying & Topography, or other related field (or HS/GED + 3 years' experience in lieu of degree)
  • Experience: 1 year related work experience
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Notary Public (can obtain within first year)
