Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Research Scientist for the SCOT inbound placement and capacity management systems. You will lead modeling, simulation and evaluation to optimize inventory, cost, reliability and speed of our fulfillment network.

You will work with fellow scientists, BI engineers and product managers, applying causal modeling, ML, and statistics to real-world supply chain problems.

Qualifications

• PhD in engineering, technology, computer science, machine learning, robotics, operations research, statistics, mathematics or equivalent quantitative field.
• Experience in quantitative field research.
• Experience with any programming language such as Python, Java, C++.

Responsibilities

• Design models of new policies, simulate their performance, and evaluate benefits and impacts.
• Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to optimization problems in supply chain.
