Job summary

Amazon seeks an Applied Scientist for the Specialized Selection team within SCOT in Bellevue, WA. You will own end-to-end projects, building ML and optimization models to optimize product assortment under capacity limits, collaborating with engineers, PMs, and business partners.

The role involves prototyping new models, designing scalable solutions, and producing production-ready code, with opportunities to publish findings and mentor teammates across the organization.

Qualifications

• 3+ years building models for business applications.
• PhD or Master’s with 4+ years in CS/CE/ML or related field.
• Experience with patents or publications at top-tier conferences/journals.
• Proficient in Java, C++, or Python.
• Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, optimization, data mining, and parallel computing.

Responsibilities

• Understand business requirements and map them to scientific solutions.
• Design scalable and achievable models and tools.
• Develop metrics to evaluate model efficacy.
• Prototype and analyze new models and logic.
• Productionize code for production systems.
