The role you’ll contribute:

The Research Revenue Cycle Compliance Specialist supports the Research Billing Compliance activities at the system level for all AdventHealth markets and divisions. This centralized role involves performing daily activities to ensure compliance of clinical trials billing processes within AdventHealth and AdventHealth Medical Group. You will support the Office of Research Integrity & Compliance to ensure all activities adhere to federal regulations and company policies. The role emphasizes outstanding customer service and respectful relationships.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • Notify necessary parties of new clinical trials and ensure research accounts are set up in patient systems before patient recruitment begins, including coordinating with AIT, revenue cycle teams, and ancillary services.
  • Manage research work items within hospital accounting programs, identifying research-related patient visits and communicating billing details to appropriate teams.
  • Clarify and communicate charges outside the work item list, ensuring accurate billing based on coverage analysis and billing grids.
  • Serve as a liaison between research teams and revenue cycle teams to resolve billing questions and facilitate accurate billing activities.
  • Notify relevant parties upon research patient completion, trial termination, or disenrollment.
  • Monitor research patient accounts and ensure enrollment data accuracy.
  • Maintain a master list of active research studies for billing compliance and management.
  • Upload and share billing compliance documents to facilitate proper billing activities.

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

Required:

  • Associate degree in healthcare-related fields or equivalent work experience in healthcare, research billing, or related areas.
  • At least one year of experience in a clinical research environment or research administration.
  • Experience in medical billing, coding, or revenue cycle management.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, administration, or research-related fields.
  • Two or more years of experience in clinical research or research administration.
  • Experience with research regulatory compliance, especially clinical trials billing.
  • Certification from professional research organizations such as SOCRA, ACRP, or SRA.
