  • Located on a lush tropical campus, our flagship hospital, 1,368-bed AdventHealth Orlando.
  • Serves as the major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and South America.
  • Houses one of the largest Emergency Departments and cardiac catheterization labs in the country.
  • Provides service excellence to more than 32,000 inpatients and 125,000 outpatients each year.

The role you’ll contribute:

The Research Revenue Cycle Compliance Specialist supports the Research Billing Compliance activities at the system level for all AdventHealth markets and divisions. This centralized role involves performing activities to ensure compliance of clinical trials billing processes within AdventHealth and AdventHealth Medical Group, and supporting the Office of Research Integrity & Compliance to meet federal regulations and hospital policies. The role emphasizes outstanding customer service and respectful relationships.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • Notify all necessary parties of new clinical trials and set up research accounts in patient systems before patient recruitment begins, including coordination with IT, Revenue Cycle teams, and ancillary services.
  • Manage research-related patient visits and billing items within hospital accounting systems, ensuring accurate charge delineation between research billable and non-billable items.
  • Communicate charge delineation outside of the hospital systems to relevant teams using Coverage Analysis and billing grids.
  • Serve as liaison between research teams and revenue cycle teams for questions related to coverage analysis, billing grids, and research visit details, utilizing the Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS).
  • Notify stakeholders when research patients complete a trial or are disenrolled.
  • Monitor research patient accounts for enrollment accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain a current master list of active research studies for billing compliance and management.
  • Upload necessary documents for billing compliance to shared applications for easy access and timely billing.

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

Required:

  • Associate degree in healthcare-related field or equivalent work experience in healthcare, clinical research, or research billing.
  • At least one year of experience in a clinical research environment or healthcare billing/coding.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, administration, or research-related field.
  • Two or more years of experience in clinical research or research administration.
  • Experience with research regulatory compliance, especially clinical trials billing.
  • Certification from professional research organizations such as SOCRA, ACRP, or SRA.
