Raise is currently hiring a
Logistics Compliance Specialist on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.
Overview
- This role supports the implementation of end-to-end trade compliance and tariff-related activities.
- The focus is ensuring compliance with U.S. Government laws and the company policies, with responsibilities spanning classification, documentation, audits, and ERP integration.
- Interaction with customs brokers and freight forwarders is also key.
Responsibilities
- Monitor updates to U.S. Customs Regulations (19CFR), Harmonized Tariff Schedule, and trade laws
- Assign and maintain accurate HTS codes and determine country of origin
- Apply U.S. Customs valuation methods
- Support tariff analysis and report on duty spend
- Ensure compliance with CBP, ITAR, and EAR regulations
- Assist with Customs programs: Duty Drawback, Temporary Import Bonds, FTZs, etc.
- Act as liaison to customs brokers and freight forwarders
- Integrate trade compliance data into ERP systems (e.g., SAP material master)
- Support internal audits and documentation reviews
- Develop and provide trade compliance reports and metrics
- Create SOPs and assist in training cross-functional teams
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Business, or related field (or equivalent education + 5 years of relevant experience)
- 3+ years in trade compliance, customs, or international logistics
- Deep knowledge of:
- U.S. Customs regulations and Foreign Trade Regulations
- HTS classification, valuation, country of origin rules
- Duty Drawback, TIBs, FTZs
- EAR, ITAR, and Sanctions Programs
- Experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP)
- Experience with trade automation or software tools
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- U.S. Customs Broker License (preferred but not required)
- Experience with:
- Duty drawback, FTZs, or CTPAT
- Aerospace, defense, or high-tech industries
- Leadership or project management experience
- Ability to drive change and motivate teams
