Job summary

The University at Buffalo seeks a Research Implementation Coordinator to guide the initiation, implementation, and completion of research protocols within the Department of Medicine. You will develop SOPs, provide programmatic guidance for startup needs, and oversee data management, regulatory compliance, and IRB processes across studies.

You will train staff, coordinate onboarding, and support hiring for research personnel while maintaining robust data systems (REDCap) and study documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus at least 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preferred: Master in public health or related field.
• 3 years of relevant experience including human subjects research, regulatory/IRB processes, and research data management (e.g., REDCap).

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and communicate SOPs for teams across the lifespan of a research project.
• Provide faculty with SOPs and guidance for start-up needs of new protocols.
• Conduct process evaluations to maintain standardization.
• Attend weekly team meetings to ensure consistency across teams.
• Create onboarding and training plans for new team members.
• Lead onboarding sessions with program overview and role-specific training.
• Train staff, postdocs, fellows, and students on procedures and SOP requirements.
• Support interview team in hiring incoming research staff.
• Build, test, and manage REDCap databases and data dictionaries.
• Export and prepare data files for analysis.
• Maintain enrollment and retention logs and reports.
• Develop organized paper file storage structure.
• Set up and monitor randomization; audit servers for consistency.
• Develop study files for IRB approval and manage IRB submissions and CPRs.
• Manage ClinicalTrials.gov updates and serve as point of contact.
