Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior-level legal research professional in the United States to advance AI-enabled research capabilities. You will deliver high-impact research, craft clear memos and presentations, and guide adoption of generative AI across the firm.

You will train staff, evaluate research resources, and collaborate across teams to drive digital transformation and improved service delivery.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Library or Information Science with focus on legal bibliography preferred.

Job description

• Deliver legal and business research with minimal supervision using advanced research platforms and AI tools


• Select effective research strategies, analyze complex information, and produce clear, actionable insights


• Manage multiple research requests while meeting deadlines and quality standards


• Produce concise, well-organized memos, reports, and presentations communicating findings, methodology, and recommendations


• Provide feedback on research deliverables and share best practices


• Partner across teams to deliver efficient, institution-wide solutions


• Train attorneys and business professionals on research resources, emerging technologies, and responsible AI use


• Leverage generative AI and emerging technologies in compliance with firm policies


• Evaluate new tools, databases, and resources to improve service delivery and innovation


• Build relationships across the firm and contribute to continuous learning and process improvement


• Support individual, departmental, and broader team goals


• Apply sound business judgment, including cost recovery practices and awareness of financial objectives


• Contribute to departmental projects and complete assigned responsibilities on time

Requirements

• Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills


• Ability to build strong relationships across the firm


• Advanced knowledge of legal, business, and AI-enabled research resources


• Expertise in computer-assisted legal research and industry-standard databases, including Westlaw, Lexis Protégé, Vincent, Bloomberg Law, PACER, Docket Alarm, Docket Navigator, and Lex Machina


• Proven success leading AI adoption initiatives and driving digital transformation through generative AI, automation, and emerging technologies


• Strong understanding of external information sources, including courts, government agencies, and industry organizations


• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint


• Master's degree in Library or Information Science from an American Library Association accredited program, including coursework or significant experience with legal bibliography (preferred qualification)


• Familiarity with legal research databases such as Westlaw and Lexis


• Interest in technology and willingness to learn new tools, including generative AI applications


• Minimum of two years of professional law firm library work experience

Demonstrates advanced knowledge of legal, business, and AI-enabled research resources, with a strong ability to produce clear, actionable insights and effective communication through memos and presentations. Proven expertise in leveraging generative AI and emerging technologies to drive digital transformation and improve service delivery.
