Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree inProject Management and 3+ years in operations management, research administration, and academic environments.
• Proven success managing large-scale research portfolios and budgets.
• Expertise in grant preparation, budgeting, compliance, and reporting.
• Experience with lab administration, equipment management, inventory systems, space allocation, and vendor coordination.
• Safety and compliance management including IRB submissions and Stanford protocols.
• Specialized experience managing sensitive biological materials and biobank collaborations.
• Strong skills with digital platforms and project management systems (Notion, Evernote, Slack, Office 365, Google Workspace).
• Experience supervising, training, and onboarding staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation and management of a research/teaching facility; schedule and coordinate equipment use.
• Negotiate and monitor equipment service contracts and warranties with vendors.
• Determine equipment needs, authorize purchases, and oversee installation with facilities staff.
• Perform or coordinate preventive maintenance and repair of all equipment.
• Oversee layout and space allocation; manage lab moves and renovations with facilities staff.
• Administer budgets from multiple funding sources.
• Administer health and safety programs, ensuring safety compliance and training.
• Direct staff, including supervision, hiring, promotions, and terminations; determine staffing needs.
