Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; 3+ years in project and operations management in research/academic settings.
• Experience building and managing large-scale research portfolios.
• Grant preparation, budgeting, compliance and reporting expertise.
• Lab administration including equipment, inventory, space allocation and vendor coordination.
• Safety/compliance management with knowledge of IRB submissions and Stanford protocols.
• Experience with biobank collaborations and handling sensitive materials.
• Strong skills with project management systems and digital platforms.
• Experience supervising and onboarding staff; strong communication and digital engagement.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation and management of a research or teaching facility; schedule equipment use.
• Negotiate and monitor equipment service contracts and warranties.
• Determine equipment needs; authorize purchases and oversee installations with facilities staff.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs for all equipment.
• Oversee space layout and tracking; manage lab moves and renovations with facilities staff.
• Administer multi-source budgets; ensure safety programs and compliance.
• Direct staff including supervision, hiring, promotions, and terminations; manage staffing needs.
