Job summary

nano@stanford is seeking a Laboratory Operations Manager to lead the technical coordination and oversight of the Nano Patterning and Flexible Cleanroom Fabrication facilities, supporting researchers in turning ideas into real structures.

You will bring hands-on experience with deposition systems, lithography, plasma etch tools, or similar equipment, and oversee tool maintenance, consumables management, vendor relations, documentation, and a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required and five years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic planning for own work group and coordinate with senior managers.
• Manage daily operations of assigned areas including staff recruiting, hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
• Oversee interdepartmental activities and serve as escalation point for problems from clients and staff.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources and prepare periodic reports.
• Interface with clients to determine project requirements and establish service levels.
• Monitor research trends and evaluate technologies for adoption and implementation.
• Communicate policies and guidelines in compliance with university administrative procedures.
