Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• Six years of progressively responsible experience in a technical environment.
• Proven expertise in design, implementation and management of complex technical systems.
• Strong understanding of workflow, policies and procedures for production environments.
• Equivalent education/experience may be substituted.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for research technologies and systems including server infrastructure, HPC, AI, cloud computing.
• Administer enterprise storage and server infrastructure with high availability and data security.
• Serve as liaison with Rutgers OIT and OARC, providing senior-level technical guidance.
• Govern data lifecycle management in compliance with policies and regulations including HIPAA.
• Develop and maintain policies for research technology operations and change management.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for research technology systems.
• Supervise systems administration staff and guide talent development.
• Participate in staff hiring and assess staffing needs.
• Develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans for research operations.
• Test contingency plans regularly to ensure effectiveness.
