Georgia Tech’s Institute for Matter and Systems seeks a Research Engineer to lead and advance capabilities in semiconductor fabrication, process integration, advanced packaging, and device interconnect characterization within a dynamic academic environment.

The role blends hands-on experimental work with technical leadership, user support, and collaboration on externally sponsored research, while shaping future capability roadmaps in a scholarly setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering/science or related field.
  • Master's degree and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree, or
  • Master's degree and nine (9) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor's degree, or
  • Doctoral degree

Responsibilities

  • Own and advance research capabilities in semiconductor fabrication, process integration, and device/interconnect characterization.
  • Develop new processes methods and technology platforms with validated methods, baselines, and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with faculty, students, industry, government and sponsored teams to translate questions into experiments, and pursue independent applied research.
  • Train, mentor, and sustain institutional knowledge while maintaining SOPs and troubleshooting guidance.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in engineering/science or related field
Master's degree in science, engineering or related area
Doctoral degree
