Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, global health, nursing, health sciences, social sciences, or a related field; or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 2+ years of experience coordinating research studies, clinical research, public health projects, or related research activities.
  • Experience with human subjects’ research and IRB processes.
  • Experience with research data collection, documentation, and project tracking.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary research team.
  • Strong writing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day research activities across multiple ViVE projects and studies.
  • Maintain project timelines, trackers, study documentation, and deliverables.
  • Support IRB submissions, amendments, renewals, and regulatory documentation.
  • Coordinate participant recruitment, scheduling, data collection, and study activities as applicable.
  • Support REDCap databases, data entry, data quality, and research documentation.
  • Coordinate research meetings, track action items, and follow up on deadlines.
  • Support preparation of manuscripts, abstracts, presentations, reports, and grant-related materials.
  • Maintain manuscript and publication tracking across ViVE projects.
  • Coordinate communication with faculty, research staff, students, and external collaborators.
  • Assist with grant deliverables, progress reports, and project documentation.
  • Perform other research coordination duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Center for Virtual Care Value and Excellence (ViVE) at UNC is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Research Coordinator to support the planning, implementation, and oversight of research studies evaluating virtual care models. The ideal candidate will have experience in clinical or health services research, strong project management skills, and a commitment to improving healthcare systems.

Job Responsibilities
  • Coordinate day-to-day research activities across multiple ViVE projects and studies.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Master’s or Bachelor’s and 0-2 years’ experience; or will accept a combination of related education and experience in substitution.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

Master’s or Bachelor’s 2+ years of research coordination or related research experience.; or will accept a combination of related education and experience in substitution. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, global health, nursing, health sciences, social sciences, or a related field; or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Two years of experience coordinating research studies, clinical research, public health projects, or related research activities.
  • Experience with human subjects’ research and IRB processes.
  • Experience with research data collection, documentation, and project tracking.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to work independently and effectively within a multidisciplinary research team.
  • Strong writing skills.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

Master’s degree in public health, global health, nursing, health informatics, or related field Experience with NIH -funded research. Experience with REDCap. Experience with qualitative research and Dedoose, NVivo, or ATLAS .ti.

Special Physical/Mental Requirements

Work is primarily performed in an office or remote office environment with prolonged periods of sitting and computer use. Must be able to communicate effectively with study participants, clinicians, and research collaborators, and manage time-sensitive deadlines. May require occasional early morning, evening, or weekend work to support study milestones and meetings across time zones. Occasional travel may be required for study meetings, trainings, or site visits.
