Job summary

UTHealth Houston seeks a detail-oriented finance professional to manage day-to-day financial administration for a busy research center. You will develop invoices, monitor automatic payments for clinical trials, oversee center budgets, and prepare periodic financial reports for Center Directors.

The role involves collaborating with research teams, finance staff, and external sponsors to maximize assets and ensure timely payments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting required.
• At least 3 years of financial or accounting experience required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and prepare financial documents and cost studies.
• Examine historical and projected financial data for senior management decisions.
• Assist in preparing annual financial statements to UT System.
• Prepare specialized cost studies of operational units.
• Complete financial statements comparing actual vs. budgeted expenditures and revenues.
• Prepare reports summarizing financial activity and investment performance.
• Develop long-term financing plans for senior management.
• Coordinate payments related to construction of new buildings and renovations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
