The University of Washington Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology is seeking a Research Specimen Processing Technician to support prospective biospecimen procurement and annotation with access to health information and clinical materials, aligned with HIPAA and CLIA rules. This is a full-time day shift at UW Medical Center – Montlake.

The role involves coordinating collection, processing, and distribution of biospecimens for basic research and clinical trials, maintaining detailed data

Qualifications

• Two years of college-level science in an applicable field or equivalent.
• High School graduation or GED with one year of clinical laboratory experience.

Responsabilités

• Review clinic and OR schedules for NWBT cases.
• Coordinate collection and processing of biospecimens and associated data for research and clinical trials across care teams.
• Gather IRB-approved clinical information and research-only samples.
• Perform intraoperative blood work with anesthesia teams and coordinate timed protocols.
• Handle tissue collection in pathology gross/frozen sections as directed by pathologists.
