Job summary

Harvard Medical School's Nascent Transcriptomics Core seeks a Research Assistant III to construct high-quality nascent RNA libraries for NGS, optimize library methods, and analyze data. The successful candidate will work under the Director and contribute to a fee-for-service core serving the biomedical community in Boston.

The role offers exposure to cutting-edge nascent RNA technologies, ability to advance sample-processing pipelines, and a collaborative, safety-focused lab environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or related discipline, or 4+ years of laboratory experience.
• 2 years of direct work experience in the laboratory setting.
• Experience with RNase-free techniques and basic molecular cloning.
• Experience with NGS library construction (RNA-seq, ChIP-seq).
• Familiarity with Linux command line, shell, or R.

Responsibilities

• Receive and perform QC on cells and materials from users.
• Construct NGS libraries according to established protocols.
• Perform QC on libraries using qPCR, TapeStation, gel electrophoresis, etc.
• Analyze users' data following established pipelines and scripts; prepare data packages.
• Maintain accurate records of samples and experiments.
