Job summary

Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus is seeking a Research Assistant to help facilitate human subject research projects with implementation and conduct under guidance. The role supports the research team and ensures protocol compliance in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Typical day runs 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., with the possibility of one remote day after a 90-day new hire period, depending on the physician’s schedule. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include High School Diploma/GED and proficiency with computer tools (Word, spreadsheets, database and presentation software).
• Preferred qualifications include one year of healthcare experience or a Bachelor’s Degree.

Responsibilities

• Assist research team with study-related tasks.
• Assist with completion of protocol-related activities.
• Maintain clinical competencies such as phlebotomy, vital signs, ECG, POC testing and other required testing.
• Coordinate and schedule research activities in accordance with protocol.
• Collect, record and maintain research study records.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of research protocols for compliant execution.
• Maintain study personnel certification records and filing systems.
• Order and stock supplies and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.

A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00 a.m. -- 4:30 p.m.

The role offers the possibility of working one day remotely after the 90-day new hire period, dependent on the physician’s schedule.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Assist research team with research study related tasks.
• Assist with completion of protocol related activities.
• Obtain and maintain clinical competencies such as phlebotomy, vital signs, ECG, POC testing and other testing as required.
• Assist with the development and coordination of the research subject schedule in compliance with the research protocol.
• Assist with the collection, recording and maintenance of research study records.
• Demonstrate comprehension of assigned research protocols.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of research protocols to coordinate the comprehensive and compliant execution of assigned protocols.
• May assist in the development and maintenance of research tools, such as spreadsheets, questionnaires and/or brochures.
• Maintain study personnel certification records (License, CV, CITI).
• Establish and maintain filing systems.
• Order and stock supplies.
• Maintain professional relationships, including frequent and open effective communication with internal and external customers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Demonstrated proficiency with a variety of computer-based skills, including Word processing, spreadsheets, and database and presentation software
• Understand basic concept of study design
• Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• One year of experience in a healthcare setting OR Bachelor’s Degree
• Knowledge of medical terminology

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
• Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
• Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
• In some locations, ability to move up to 25 pounds

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $16.47

Maximum hourly: $23.61
