Job description

Our Lab:
Men's Health, Aging, and Metabolism Research is seeking a Research Assistant II (RAII) to assist and support the research team in conducting several ongoing clinical trials. Our research includes diverse populations such as young adults, adults, seniors, and geriatrics, with a focus on exercise science, metabolism, hormones, and aging. We work with healthy individuals as well as those with chronic conditions like type 2 diabetes, stress urinary incontinence in postmenopausal women, and prostate cancer survivors.

Summary:

The RAII will enroll eligible patients into clinical research protocols, manage data collection and regulatory submissions, and serve as a liaison between the clinical team, sponsors, and the Institutional Review Board (IRB). The role involves extensive data abstraction and entry.

Essential Functions:

1. Verify adequate documentation of consent.
2. Conduct screening tests and procedures, review eligibility criteria to ensure participants meet all requirements.
3. Enroll participants as per study sponsor and investigator directives.
4. Follow participants throughout the study to ensure protocol compliance.
5. Monitor and report adverse events and deviations according to regulations.
6. Maintain research charts and electronic files for all enrolled participants.
7. Communicate protocol clarifications from the sponsor.
8. Prepare for monitoring visits and audits.
9. Collect, complete, and submit regulatory documents to IRB and other entities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required.
• 1-2 years of related research experience is required.
• Skills include independence, teamwork, organization, communication, computer literacy, analytical problem-solving, data interpretation, attention to detail, knowledge of research protocols, and professionalism.

Physical Requirements:

• Standing occasionally, walking occasionally, sitting constantly.
• Lifting and carrying 20-35 lbs occasionally.
