Position Description:
Immediate opening for a Temporary Research Assistant position is available at the Price Institute of Surgical Research studying colorectal cancer and Inflammatory Bowel Disease. A successful candidate will work independently, but under general supervision, to execute a variety of routine and non-routine experiments at a professional level. In collaboration with other members of the research team, will give input to the development of design protocols and will calculate, transcribe, and analyze data. Excellent organizational and communication skills and ability to work with a highly interactive group is required.
Essential responsibilities include:
- Perform routine and non-routine experiments, which are moderate to complex. Tests may include those involving RNA and protein extractions, PCR, Western blotting, and other basic biochemical tests.
- Calculate, transcribe, and analyze data which requires a high degree of computer literacy.
- May maintain long-term tissue cultures of rodent or human cell lines and monitor cells for viability and contamination.
- Perform literature searches and help to prepare presentations and written articles for publication.
- Coordinate schedule of tests and procedures.
- All other duties as assigned.
Compensation Will Be Commensurate To Candidate Experience.
