Berkshire East Ski Resort is seeking a Rental Technician to properly select and fit ski and snowboard equipment for rental customers. The role is 18+ and requires excellent customer service and basic math for transactions.

Responsibilities include verifying rental forms and payments, advising guests on equipment, adjusting DIN settings, processing rentals, and maintaining inventory for groups and school programs. On-site position with varied hours.

Qualifications

• Customer service excellence with guests at the rental desk.

• DIN setting certification or training provided by manufacturer.

Job Summary

Properly select and fit ski and snowboard equipment for rental customers. Position is for 18 and over.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Confirm rental forms are completed and verify accuracy of information.
• Verify rental equipment is paid for and lift tickets are purchased.
• Provide expert advice regarding selection of equipment and gear.
• Fit boots, skis, snowboards, poles and helmets to guest satisfaction.
• Explain how the equipment works and reinforce safety techniques.
• Adjust DIN settings for guest weight, height and ability level.
• Process rental equipment through rental inventory system.
• Inspect equipment before and after rental and tag any needed repairs.
• Maintain rental fleet inventory promptly tracking returned equipment.
• Prepare and organize rentals for large groups and school programs.
• Disinfect boots and helmets per manufacturer recommendations.
• Process cash and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Manage the till, count start cash and prepare nightly deposit bags.
• Handle customer complaints in a professional and diplomatic way.
• Maintain rental shop and storage racks in a neat and organized fashion.
• Answer telephone calls directed to the rental shop.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by manager.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)

• Skilled in providing outstanding customer service.
• In depth knowledge of equipment used in skiing and snowboarding.
• Working knowledge of computers and rental software systems.
• Able to count cash and perform simple mathematical functions.
• Certification in DIN setting (provided by ski manufacturer Rossignol).

Physical Demands

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds,

Requirements

Shift Requirements:

• Hours may be long, including early morning through early evening.
• Frequent weekend and holiday shifts.

Age Requirements:

• Applicants must be at least age 18 and over for FT & PT Rental Technician position.
• Rental Assistants have restrictions as to which duties they may perform.
