Job summary

Fred Haas Toyota Country is hiring a Rental Operator to run our Toyota Rent a Car counter. You will be the first point of contact for rental customers, including service loaner and warranty rental guests, retail renters, and insurance replacement customers.

You''ll keep the fleet ready, the paperwork accurate, and the process moving. You will greet customers, process rental agreements, verify licenses and payment, inspect vehicles, and coordinate with service advisors to authorize rentals.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience; rental, dealership, or automotive experience is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail with contracts, cash handling, and documentation.
• Comfortable with computers and learning new software.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and process rental agreements, check-outs, and returns accurately in the rental system.
• Verify driver's licenses, proof of insurance, and payment before releasing vehicles.
• Inspect vehicles at check-out and check-in, and document fuel, mileage, and damage with photos.
• Coordinate with Service Advisors on warranty, loaner, and customer-pay rental authorizations.
• Track fleet availability, schedule reservations, and keep vehicles cleaned, fueled, and ready.
• Close out rental contracts and turn in daily paperwork and receipts to Accounting.
• Follow up on overdue returns, tolls, citations, and damage claims.
• Move vehicles on the lot and between locations as needed.

What We're Looking For

• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record (must meet our insurance carrier's requirements)
• Customer service experience; rental, dealership, or automotive experience is a plus

• Comfortable with computers and learning new software
• Ability to work [schedule, e.g., weekdays and Saturdays]

Physical Demands

• Stand and walk for extended periods at the counter and on the lot
• Work outdoors, especially during vehicle inspections and deliveries
• Get in and out of vehicles frequently throughout the shift
• Lift and carry up to10 lbs occasionally
• Bend, kneel, and crouch to inspect vehicle exteriors, tires, and undercarriage areas for damage
• Use hands to operate a computer, keyboard, phone, and handheld devices
